UPDATE: Power Restored

Update as of the morning of November 20th, 2024: Power has been restored to the station, and we are working towards getting back to regularly scheduled programming. The previous headline of this update was “Power outage due to bomb cyclone”.

The power is out at CHLY 101.7FM due to the bomb cyclone storm. Nanaimo News Now reports that over 20,000 homes across Nanaimo, Gabriola & Oceanside are without power. We expect to be back on the air for tomorrow.

Time to fundraise and/or write a grant for a backup generator.
